André Marriott-Blake

André Marriott-Blake is a member of our firm's Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department. André was appointed by the Governor General of Jamaica to the office of Jamaica Youth Ambassador – CARICOM Portfolio for the 2015-2017 term, and later by the CARICOM Secretariat to the office of CARICOM Youth Ambassador – Jamaica for a similar term. He served as Minister of Industry Commerce & Investment for the National Youth Parliament 2008 and 2009, and is a youth advocate and steering committee member of the Violence Prevention Alliance. He currently serves on the Labour Market Reform Commission's Industrial Relations subcommittee where he is a member of the Legislation working group. Andre serves on the Teachers' Appeals Tribunal.


Called to the Jamaican Bar in 2015, André obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies and Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School. He holds a Certificate in Copyright Law from the Harvard Law School and a Certificate in Green Economy and Environmental Protection from the Center for Environmental Education and Communication of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, People's Republic of China. While at the Norman Manley Law School, André served on several committees and sat on the executive of the Students' Association. He received the Richard Wayne Lee Memorial Prize for his involvement in students' activities, student welfare, and interest in the law school. During his years of pupilage, André attained several awards and scholarships including the Citizen Security & Justice Programme Scholarship, The Glencore AG Scholarship from the Bauxite Alumina and Trading Company of Jamaica and The Vibe Trophy, UWI Service Award.


André’s practice covers general civil and commercial litigation which includes debt collection, recovery of possession, family law, entertainment law, personal injury matters and contractual disputes.
